Alex LeBlanc et son Orchestre, created in 2017, consists of six musicians who graduated from McGill University or the University of Montreal. The songs and arrangements are mostly inspired by the “Cool Jazz” era, intertwined with a certain modern approach, resulting in such a distinctive sound. In the fall of 2018, the group released a debut album entitled «Live au Bar Ste-Angèle», album which was recorded, as indicated by the title, during a live concert at the mythic little jazz club of Québec City. Since then, Alex LeBlanc et son Orchestre has received good critics from ‘’Radio Canada’’ and ‘’ICI Musique’’ and they have been in contention for the International Montreal Jazz Festival TD Grand Jazz Award in 2019. Last September, they recorded a new record entitled ‘’Musique pour jeunes fous’’ that will be released in 2022.
